The most common finish for such occurrences is to install timber deck boards. The addition of decking and side fascia boards give an appearance of a much more permanent structure. Which, when twinned with wooden posts and heavy rope hand rails provides an edge protection system which compliments the overall look of the pontoon.
Artificial Grass
If you want to get back to nature then another popular option is to install AstroTurf on the pontoons. The options with artificial grass are hugely varied, think your back lawn all the way up to the fairways at Augusta, as with all these things it ultimately comes down to price. Carpet
