Late on Friday afternoon, Floating Pontoon Hire received a call asking whether we could provide a temporary boarding platform for a corporate dragon boat event at voco Oxford Thames by IHG.
By Tuesday, our team was onsite installing the pontoon.
Working alongside Race the Dragon and a team-building events company, we created a larger and more practical boarding area beside the venue’s existing timber landing stage.
The existing pontoon at the venue was too high for participants to board the dragon boats comfortably. By installing our modular pontoon alongside it, we created a lower boarding platform at the right height for safe and straightforward access throughout the event.
Designed around the existing waterside access, the pontoon was installed temporarily without the need for permanent construction. Once the event was complete, it could be dismantled and removed, leaving the venue as it was before.
Projects like this show one of the main benefits of modular pontoons: they can be mobilised quickly and configured around the location, event and access requirements.
Floating Pontoon Hire supplies temporary platforms for sporting events, corporate team-building activities, festivals and other waterside projects throughout the UK.
