The sun is shining, the weather is warm, and its very much triathlon season here in The UK. Well, you wouldn’t want to be jumping into open water here in the depths of winter, would you!
The earliest record of a triathlon event was held in the Paris suburb of Joinville-le-Pont in 1901. Billed as “Les Trois Sports”, it comprised run, bike, and canoe segments. By the 1920s, the canoe segment had been replaced with a swim.
As to why we’re writing a blog about triathlons on a website abour floating pontoons. Well thats because our pontoons make a perfect start point or exit ramp for triathlons, where access to and from the water is poor. We are able to install access walkways and platforms of any shape and size, as well as sink specially modified pontoons under the water to form an access ramp allowing athletes to exit the water much easier and faster avoiding bottle necks.
In the last month alone we have provided such pontoons in Swansea, Bristol, Cheshire and Northamptonshire. With well over 2000 athletes making use of our pontoons during different events. We even featured on an article on BBC Bristol following the recent Tough Runner event held there.
If you think your event would benefit from such a pontoon. Then please don’t hesitate to call us on 01590 607104 or email admin@fph-co-uk.stackstaging.com.
