We were recently approached by a client who needed to get access to a pedestrianised island on the side of the Thames for ground works and excavations to take place.
We were able to provide a double stacked pontoon decked with crane bog mats to allow the excavator to track over to the island and gain access at a fraction of the price that a bespoke bridge would have cost and installed in just one day.
The buoyancy capabilities of our pontoons can quite clearly be seen in the attached image but to put figures to it. If evenly spread a 20×5 metre double stacked pontoon could accommodate and incredible 34 Ton at safe working load.
