Following on from our blog earlier this month, which featured our involvement in works at Brentford Lock West. Pontoons being utilised as catch platforms for debris seem to be the order of the month.
In Brentford we have installed a series of pontoons, which will eventually have a fabric membrane installed across it to catch anything that may falll from the building above whilst it is beng dismantled.
Following on from that job, we have just this week completed another install. This time in Nottingham where one of our pontoons is being used in a culvert of the River Leen. A concrete apron above the culvert is due to be demolished and our pontoons will initally be used for access to facilitate the demolition. Followed by being a means of preventing debris entering the watercourse.
The pontoons were lifted into the water using a HIAB vechile and assembled and secured in place by our expert team all in a matter of hours.
