Whether you are a lover or a hater there is no escaping it. Christmas is coming! Most people have that one thing which says to them Christmas is on the way. Whether its your first ‘Festive feast’ sandwich, Maria playing on the radio or The Coca Cola advert on telly. One thing I think most people can agree on really marks the season is the festive lights. Twinkling in trees, strung from houses or in this case lighting up a park in South London, Crystal Palace to be exact.
Lightopia, Londons largest light festival is due to kick off this week. Running from the 17th November – 2nd January, Lightopia will feature stunning, multi-sensory interactive lights and lantern installations. Creating a winter wonderland bursting with colour, making this a spectacular addition for all the family for this festive season.
And the undoubted star atttraction of this years Lightopia, is one of our pontoons! Okay, in truth its probably not why most people will attend, but we have installed a 300sqm public viewing platform on the Lower Lake of Crystal Palace Park. The pontoon will give festival goers a close up view of the on water light show. Providing additional viewing space and ensuring that bottle necks don’t build up on the paths around the park. In addition to the public viewing platform we have provided a further 50sqm of pontoon to house lighting modules on the lake.
Our pontoons are perfect for public events where you need to extend the workable area of your event. With a safe working load of 175kg per square metre and edge protection fencing on all exposed edges you can be assured that attendees to your event will be safe and secure on the pontoons.
