I’m not sure this is quite what Harry and Murray were uttering to themselves this time last week, in the howling wind and rain of the Scottish West Coast. but like the heroes they are, they dug deep and kept on cracking to ensure our client got the pontoon they needed!
The context behind this? We were providing a pontoon to the RSPB at Skinflats near Falkirk. This reserve is primarily a large area of intertidal mudflats and saltmarsh, where birds include migrant and wintering wildfowl, shelduck, pink footed geese and waders.
Our client, The RSPB required access to a couple of small islands to undertake maintenance works. Small machinery was required on the island for the works and our pontoons offered the perfect solution for such access. When the tide was in flood our pontoons simply floated up and provided a floating bridge between the land and the islands and as the tide went out, the pontoons were left sitting on the mudflats providing safe access for machinery and maintenance crew.
Take a look at our website for more information on how our pontoons provide a perfect solution on both land and water for access here – https://www.floatingpontoonhire.co.uk/commercial-pontoon-hire/pontoons-for-marshlands-and-reed-beds/
