What does that have to do with us? Well we’ve had the pleasure of working alongside the main contractor for over 5 years now, providing pedestrian diversions and work platforms during different phases of the works.
Phase 3 of the project is now kicking off and we are back supporting our client doing what we do best. We have recntly installed a 100 metre pedestrian diversion which takes member of the public from the existing towpath, along our pontoons and safely away from works which are being carried out along and above the existing towpath.
We have also installed a series of pontoons to act as a a debris catch platforms whilst works are being carried out over head. The exisiting commercial units which overhang the canal are being dismantled and to ensure no debris makes its way into the canal our pontoons willl be topped with a membrane to catch anything falling from above.
In all we have a a little under 800 square metres of pontoon installed onsite. This took our team ace install team a little over 3 days to install which really is no mean feet when you consider with the edge protection added that was 4 full articulated vehicles worth of kit.
