The use of pontoon in relation to rail is incredibly broad in both of size of installation and duration of project. It can be as simple as a 1 day inspection making use of a small 4×4 metre pontoon with outboard motor, allowing inspections of the structure. To access walkways for scour repair. All the way through to large scale work platforms spanning the width of a river, upon which scaffold and plant can be housed safely and securely.
Modular Flexibility
With individual modules measuring just 0.5×0.5 metres in size, our ability to make our system work to meet your needs really is endless. We can assemble the pontoons to fit tightly around columns, piers and abutments ensuring you are able to get as close to the works site as possible not only helping to make life as easy as possible when undertaking the works but also ensuring your workforce are as safe as possible when working on the water.
Pontoon Capabilities
With a safe working load of 175kg per square metre in single height configuration, or 350kg in double height configuration, with a maximum load capacity of 350kg and 650kg in the respective configurations. Even a single height pontoon of 6m x 8m could support over 8 tonnes of plant when the load is correctly spread. We work closely with a renowned marine engineering firm who are able to run stability and buoyancy calculations on potential installs to provide piece of mind that your employees and your equipment will be as safe as possible at all times.
