Over the past 2 weekends over 1600 square metres of our pontoon has been onsite in Londons Royal Docks providing a pedestrian access walkway to Silverworks Island Festival. The pontoon crossing the docks, gave access to festival goers from The Excel Exhibition Centre to the festival site on the old Silvertown Quays.
Over a period of 2 days 7 x articulated vehicles delivered pontoons and edge protection to site and launched onto the docks using mounted HIAB cranes. To ensure that the pontoon was sufficiently buoyant, stable and strong it was assembled as a double stacked layer of pontoons with a brick bond build. By doing this each sqm of pontoon has a maximum working load of over 700kg, thats more than enough to have been able to drive vehicles over!
