Another week and another reservoir for our install crews, our latest job took us up to Belmont Reservoir near Bolton, where we’re supplying an access pontoon to house pipework and eventually pumping gantries.
The pontoon is made from our modular HDPE cubes – lightweight, strong, and quick to bolt together – making them perfect for this sort of setup. Taking into account environmentla concerns on where we are able to access or pontoon is anchored both bank and lakeside with walkway stretching out from the shore, leading to a solid working platform where the pumps and pipes will be positioned.
Belmont can be a pretty exposed spot, so we made sure everything was locked down and ready to handle a mix of weather and fluctuating water levels. The anti-slip surface on the cubes gives extra grip, which is exactly what you want when you’re working over open water.
Prior to being handed over to the client, edge protection will be added and the gantries installed and then its onto the next location!
