At Floating Pontoon Hire, we understand that safety is non-negotiable. When you hire one of our modular pontoons, you’re not just getting a robust floating platform — you’re also getting the support of professionally certified safety boats and experienced skippers who bring much more than just piloting skills to the job.
What We Provide
1. Safety Boats
We can supply CRT-certified safety boats that are perfectly matched to work alongside our pontoons during repair, maintenance or inspection work. These vessels are essential for site safety, rapid response, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
2. Qualified Skippers
All of our skippers are fully qualified and hold commercially endorsed power boat licences, meaning they are trained not only in boat handling but also in marine safety skills — first aid, sea survival, rescue procedures, and medical fitness.
For many projects we provide RYA-qualified skippers, who have passed rigorous marine training and safety certification.
Our Credentials & Training
Our crews hold a wide range of marine qualifications: RYA Yachtmaster, RYA Advanced Powerboat, RYA Sea Survival, VHF Radio Licences, marine First Aid, STCW (Standards of Training, Certification & Watchkeeping) ‒ and more.
All skippers undergo regular medical checks and specialised rescue-technique training.
We also maintain corporate certifications (ISO 9001, Achilles SSIP, Constructionline Gold) that demonstrate our commitment to safety, quality, and professionalism.
How We Work With You
Whether you have your own crew or need us to supply both vessel and operator, we’re flexible:
If you have qualified crew, we can provide the safety boat on a “bareboat” basis.
If you prefer, we offer full crewed services, with 24-hour coverage as needed.
We tailor the safety setup to your project: pontoon repair? inspection work? flood mitigation? We’ll ensure the right scale of safety support accompanies the pontoon deployment.
If you’re planning a project that involves floating pontoons, whether for events, inspections, or maintenance, get in touch. We’ll walk you through the safety provisions that match your needs and ensure your job proceeds with both confidence and protection.
