Painshill Park in Surrey, is regarded as one of the foremost and finest examples of the English Landscape Movement. Created in the 18th century by Charles Hamilton as a living painting. The 160 acre masterpiece has something for everyone. In recent years Painshill has perhaps become most famour for serving as the backdrop to Netflix’s hit show Bridgerton.
We were recently contacted by Paul Griffiths – Director of Painshill Park. Enquiring if we could assist with an access problem which had occcured as a result of a structural survey undertaken on one of the bridges onsite. The Chinese Bridge which makes up part of the historic route of the park. Had been deemed unsafe for use and as a result, visitors were facing a considerable diversion to access many of Painshills most popular attractions.
Within 2 working days of a site visit to discuss options and advise how we could assist. We had an install crew onsite, installing a 34 metre long pontoon walkway with edge protection linking up the two islands and reinstating the historic walking route (with a piece of 21st century technology).
All thats left now is for the estate team to redirect the path to the pontoon. Form the transitions from bank to pontoon and Painshills visitors will be able to go about their day without a lenghty diversion.
