Hiring a floating pontoon is often part of a wider project, whether for construction, maintenance, access or events. Below we answer some of the most common questions we’re asked once an enquiry is made.
What information do you need initially?
We usually need the site location, intended use of the pontoon, approximate size required and expected hire duration. Photos or drawings are helpful but not essential at this stage.
Do you need to visit site?
Not always. Many projects can be assessed using drawings, mapping and site photos. For more complex locations or access-restricted sites, a site visit may be recommended.
How is the pontoon layout decided?
The layout is designed around how the pontoon will be used, load requirements, access points and changes in water level. This could range from a simple access walkway to a larger working platform.
How quickly can you provide a quotation?
Once we have the key details, we aim to provide a clear quotation promptly, setting out the proposed configuration, hire assumptions and installation requirements.
What happens on installation day?
Our team delivers and installs the pontoon system efficiently and in line with the agreed plan, keeping disruption to a minimum.
Can the pontoon be modified during the hire?
In many cases, yes. If project requirements change, additional pontoons or layout adjustments can often be accommodated.
What happens when the hire period ends?
Firstly, the pontoon is your’s for as long as you need it (so long as you’re paying your bills!) When you’re done we return to site to remove the pontoon system and reinstate the area as agreed. Temporary pontoon installations leave no permanent footprint.
